Atami Grill & Sushi Canton

My son wanted to take me out for a nice dinner and not at some chain restaurant, rather at a nice and unique restaurant. They had a diverse menu and the staff were very knowledgeable, attentive to detail , checked with us if all was as we wanted, but never hurried us.
Each dish we ordered we truly enjoyed and shared samples with each other . All was very fresh.
We both were very pleased we tried this "new to us " restaurant.

The appeal of sushi for many people is that this dish is super fresh and often is made right in front of you. That is what you get at Atami. Your place an order and they get busy. I had a tasty and quick lunch.

Very cozy place, great food, very nice people. Sushi is very good and well done, great presentation and portion size. Price is not bad, with some discount on some days. They have hibachi and table service, all with great service. The decorations are very nice and not too busy. A must go place for sushi, hibachi and other menu items.

This is my new favorite restaurant, highly recommend their Sushi. The food's quality, price, quantitiy is good! Moreover, the enviornment and service attitude is awesone, it makes me feel very relax. Especially recommended to visit on Tuesday because all sushi roll are half price. Furthermore, the hibachi chicken every morning cost 6.99 only, sometimes when im lazy this is the best choice for breakfast for someone like me! Ps. the decorations of the food looks very beautiful!

Thankful there is place like this in Hickory Flat. That being said here’s my review…
The restaurant looked to be clean which is always a nice way to start your dinner.

The Service was excellent! We were checked on several times during our meal to make sure everything was OK which I always appreciate. Our hostess/waitress was exceptional!!

Thai iced tea - good but had better. I did appreciate that they used light ice.

Ginger salad - lettuce was nice and cold and crispy but when it came to the dressing I’ve also had better.

House clear soup - Beef broth base with pinch of onions and a few thin mushroom slices. I enjoyed this because it was very light.

For dinner I had the salmon with fried rice. This is the first hibachi restaurant I have been to that up charge for fried rice, that being said the flavor and taste of the salmon, rice and vegetables was wonderful, and everything was cooked perfectly! Would for sure order it again!

For dessert got tempura cheesecake it had a drizzle of chocolate over the top and also A surprisingly light taste of cinnamon.
