Great place and reasonable fees, each paying visitor can keep 7 pounds. You can expect 1 lb catfish to hit every 3-5 minutes, with bigger ones around. We had one break our line immediately. They have live bait, hooks 3 for a dollar, weights, etc just bring a pole with line. We live on a lake but my girls never catch anything , they really enjoyed the constant action.
Side note, its the country and its fishing. You will get hot, nasty, probably see a little trash etc, but what do you expect? We are lucky to have a spit in the city to come to.
My husband and I were visiting from out of town. The facility was ran Amazingly! We met the owner herself and she truly cares for her property and her visitors. She's full of great information and willing to even share info for a more productive fishing experience! The pond/lake was beautifully kept. We only had a few hours to fish and unfortunately didn't catch any. It was midday (when we all know catfish don't eat much) We did however witness several fish caught I'm talking 6 to 10 in the couple of hours we spent there. So the pond is stocked often. Great experience overall and will definitely return whenever we get the chance!
This is a great location! My mom and I went a few months ago. A catfish jumped on my hook surprised the heck out of me. A nice lady helped me get it off. I recommend this lake....just try it. The owners were friendly and let us know what we needed and what to expect. Loved the pig! Taking the hubby back!
Nice and clean. Not to many bites but did get one of my poles yanked in. Sucks for that to happen but nice to know they are some good size fish that can do that. I'll get them next time.
Had a fantastic day of fishing yesterday with my daughter and her fiance. As any true fisherman should know, sometimes just because we want to go fishing the fish don't always bite. Especially with catfish !!!!! The owner Kate and I believe his name is Wesley are so nice and wonderful that on just their welcoming attitudes alone we would DEFINITELY be back even if we didn't catch any fish. BUT WE DID!!! We caught a nice stringer of catfish. I use to fish this lake when I was teenager 35-40 years ago. It use to be owned by one of my high school teachers Mr. Jolly . Mrs. Kate is still friends with the Jolly family. She said Mr. Jolly recently suffered a stroke and is not doing well. My prayers are out to him for a fast recovery. Glad see nothing has changed much and its still a great place to catch a mess of catfish !!!!
