I am a picky parent when it comes to my children's school.Got to say I am sure impressed with this Goddard and the way it is run. Monthly parent calls about how my kids are doing is a huge help. These folks show a lot of kindness for sure. When one of the families in the class had a tragic setback the parent shared with me that the school stepped in and helped them out a lot. Kudos to them for going over and above. Glad that we are in a school that cares about the whole family not just the child. I also like how they had more teachers during Covid. Some of my coworkers have had issues with their daycares not having teachers and happy to see that my both children's classroom have 3 instead of the usual 2 they used to have before covid. I know staffing is really tough nowadays.....so definitely thankful.
Also very thankful that they have had such few covid closures. I liked how they follow the public health policies. Another area that they really stepped up and supported us more than they needed to.
I cannot say enough good things about this Goddard School. Throughout the pandemic, I was never concerned about my children being out of the house. Mrs. Kay has followed DPH guidelines to a T. Even more so, she has taken great strides to keep the virus out of her classrooms - footing the bill herself for hundreds of PCR tests for her students and teachers - multiple times, especially after local surges. This instilled confidence in our ability to send our girls and not worry as much about their health. They could focus on actually being kids. She also offered testing to entire families, not just the children attending the school.
The curriculum is above and beyond. My late birthday daughter is in first grade here. She is doing the same work (down to the same worksheets) that her 3rd grade brother is being assigned in the public school system. My middle daughter will start second grade well-prepared. My youngest will start kindergarten in well prepared.
We attended another daycare/school with our oldest and I was concerned about the transition. I have never been happier with our decision. Your child will be prepared for school and cared for by teachers who are teaching, not babysitting.
I LOVE THIS SCHOOL!!! I wish I had moved my child here at the beginning of Covid itself. We moved to this school early 2021 and have absolutely enjoyed our time here. The school is very careful with Covid policies and goes above and beyond to communicate and implement them. Unlike our previous school, here the teachers wear masks. I particularly liked how they use testing as a tool to prevent spread and repeated closure. In Jan when Covid was so crazy, my family had an exposure to a relative and the school provided us free testing and we got the results back in 24 hrs. It was such a big help to not stand in line at different places. The owner herself took the time to come over the weekend and help us drop off the tests. I love how the owner is so well informed about Covid policies and helps us as parents. The curriculum and the communication are very strong and a far cry from the school that we were at in 2020.
Always amazing and friendly staff ready to help and answer any questions I may have. Thank you
