Too bad there isn't an option for 10 Stars!

We currently have two children in the school. Both had Ms. Manisha in the toddler class. All I can say is WOW!! She is so great with the little ones. My older son has Ms. Rashmi and she is great as well. He has learned so much in his time here. He is leaps and bounds ahead of other 5 year olds we know. Our middle just transitioned to Primary and I expect the same progress will be made. Our youngest will also attend the school when her time comes. I cannot say enough good things about the school and the staff. I say on a regular basis that this is one of the best parenting decisions we have made at this point.

Both my kids have been attending this school for 5 and 3 yrs; We are so lucky to have found this place. The teachers and staff are amazing. Ms. Jiyoung, Ms. Rashmi, Ms. Manisha - so loving, caring, knowledgable and have laid great foundation in my kids for years to come. Their approach to teaching is such that kids get interested in learning for sake of learning, they bring out the curiosity in the kids, instill confidence through independing learning and leadership skills. I wish they had a middle-high school so my kids could benefit from them through all their academic years!!! Thank you so much MSOC!

My son Spent 3 years in this school. He was in Miss. Jiyoung’s class. During kids very Sensitive age we all need the best teacher and the best environment to learn. We are so blessed to have her as my son’s teacher. My son loved working with her. He learned reading and writing so quick with her. My son was so shy, she filled him with all the confidence and positive social skills. He was learning many new things everyday with Miss Jiyoung. I hope she could be his teacher for all his life. She is very hardworking and passionate about teaching.

This is an AMI-certified school which is rare in the area. The teachers are AMI-certified who went through very rigorous training at accredited schools in order to implement the Montessori philosophy and materials in a way that is consistent with the original approach of Maria Montessori. AMI-certified schools are audited regularly by a third party to make sure that it is following the pure Montessori method. Most Montessori schools are AMS, which is a watered down version of Montessori and includes outside resources, materials and ideas to supplement the Montessori curriculum. At Montessori School of Cumming, teachers really teach and instill true Montessori principles in the students, which is an invaluable experience for the whole family. I am very surprised to see how anyone would have a negative experience with Ms. Jiyoung, who is one of the teacher at MSC. I would say this to anyone who is looking for a true Montessori school. If your child is one who is used to being cuddled all the time and who is always showered with rewards for everything he does, the child will struggle during the transition period here as a new student, until the parents are onboard and support the Montessori principles. This school really provides a lot of time outside of school for social events for families and time for educating the parents on the benefits of Montessori philosophy, and how to implement it from home. My son was in Ms. Jiyoung's primary classroom for 2.5 years. He looked forward to going to school everyday and spending time with her and his classmates. He went from being very shy in the beginning and ended up being a confident classroom leader and was always among the first ones to help the teacher, the classroom environment, and younger children when they are struggling with their work. We can't be any happier with how fast our son was able to master and advance in all the activities. At every parent observation of the classroom over the 2.5 years, I watched a classroom full of 3-6 y/o children busy working on their own activities or busy teaching each other how to do it, and they all did it so quietly for 3 hours straight. Very impressive to see! They are required to work every morning for 3 hours, then again 2 hours in the afternoon. That is a lot of academic learning and practice in pure concentration every single day, believe me, a priceless investment that will pay off in the future. Montessori school is NOT for children whose main goal of going to school is to have fun and socialize. It is for children who want to have fun, socialize, while learning to become independent little leaders and thinkers, and appreciate what they receive from their family and the nature, and this can only be taught in the pure Montessori way. Technology, current events are important too in education, but they will get more than enough of that outside the classroom, and later on. Learning the basics of all the important things from scratch and doing everything hands on is what each child needs at the beginning stage of life. This is what Ms. Jiyoung does best. She is a warm and caring teacher who brings out the best in her students. She has a way to instill a love of learning in them. It is obvious how much the pre-schoolers and kindergarteners love and respect their teacher. It is fun to watch the children scurry during group time, as everyone wants to get the spot closest to her. Jiyoung is an awesome teacher!

We have sent both our kids here and loved the experience. Our youngest son was here for three years with Ms Jiyoung and is moving on to the public school system this year. We always believed that the education he received here has been instrumental in shaping him as a kind, caring and an outgoing person. He picked up fluent reading, cursive writing and fairly advanced math skills by the age of 6. We strongly attribute his confidence and his keen sense of always wanting to do the right thing to what he learnt at this school. He looked fwd to going to school every day, and we would totally recommend this place to anyone seeking a Montessori education for their children.
