The friendliest and most knowledgeable staff of any retail store I've been to in a long time! I am a beginner hiker and wanted to get some supplies for an upcoming trip. My first visit I went to get boots and I was helped by Jen. She said she only recently started in the shoe department but she taught me so much about picking the right hiking boot. Approximately a week later I came back and Chris in the backpack department gave me a thorough walkthrough. Even though I was just looking for a relatively simple bag they still showed me all the best options on the market and once again gave me so much information. I have recommended all my friends to come here ever since.
Yesterday, 11/19/22, went to this REI store to buy a "quilty" jacket. STARR was the staffer who assisted us. She was very knowledgeable, helpful, and worked hard to find out exactly how I would use the jacket and what were my "performance specification" requirements. Then she pointed me toward the jackets that would "check all the boxes." She didn't push the pricey over the 30% - off house brand. In fact, she wasn't pushy in any way, just professional and helpful. Highly recommend this REI store and STARR.
I live in Europe and miss this store more than I like to recognize. When I come stateside, I always try to go. The lifetime membership and in store deals are amazing. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about their job. Their selection of brands and their own branded gear is mind blowing. Rei forever.
I’ve been interested in getting into biking and have just been trying to feel out the vibe and get some information. I went to a local “bike shop” to try to check out some bikes and ask some questions but there wasn’t anyone to talk to or answer questions. I stopped by Perimeter REI to try again, but I wasn’t sure if there would be someone knowledgeable to talk to and answer questions since they are a large store. I walked in nervously and walked out having purchased a bike, feeling confident, and so happy. Bradley immediately approached me when I was browsing and was so happy to answer my questions, get to know me and what I wanted, and set me up for my first test ride. I also worked with Starr, and she humored my additional questions and was so wonderful. The experience I had with Bradley, Starr, and the rest of the team at REI exceeded my expectations and I knew this was the store I wanted to make my bike purchase from. I had no intentions of purchasing when I walked in, but they went above and beyond and honestly were some of the coolest people I have ever met. I have to come back to pick up my bike because I wasn’t prepared to transport it home, but I am so excited to see them again and get started riding! The membership was also no brainer for me with all of the perks of free flat fixes and high quality affordable maintenance at the shop. 100/10 experience and I can’t wait to stop by again for all my bike needs! Let me start by saying....I am the absolute worst when it comes to trying things on. I am aware of this. I have a weird shaped body, and a chronic pain condition that makes me super picky, and incredibly self conscious at the same time. Everyone there is so helpful and patient! I was trying on shoes the other day, and the guy that was helping me (Tim I think) went absolutely above and beyond. He must have shown me 12 different types of shoes, each in different sizes to find a good fit. (Again. I know I'm a retail nightmare.) He NEVER got frustrated. There were other people there, and he helped us all equally. He even went so far as to help me do research on what would help my condition. I didn't ask him to. He is just a great person. I left with a pair of Brooks that have genuinely changed my day to day. I will be coming back again and again for the service they provide.
