  Visited from out of town. Felt lucky to be able to roll on newly installed Zebra mats. Brian and the students were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They helped tremendously with learning some great technique and providing feedback after rolling. Couldn’t have asked for a better place and friendly environment to train.

  Every so often you come across a teacher who is not only passionate about their craft but also highly effective at communicating. This translates into a robust learning experience for students. Professor Brian and team at Alpharetta Martial arts bring all of the above to the mats.
  
  Professor Brian is knowledgeable, passionate, and demanding as an instructor; working with him has been a literal game changer in my own journey with BJJ and women's self defense.
  
  Professor Brian takes the time to break down and drill fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu over the course of weeks to ensure students walk away confident in their technique and bolstered with enough muscle memory to deliver the moves during sparring. His commitment to his craft translates into well developed lessons and curriculum, creating a positive learning environment that is rigorous and adaptable to meet individual students needs. This is the highest level of teaching, that comes from the teachers dedication to the sport, and a passion for connecting with and growing a body of students in the community.
  
  I give Alpharetta Martial Arts the highest possible recommendation. I may not be an expert on BJJ (yet) but as a teacher I can recognize excellent teaching, both in delivery and strategy. Professor Brian is top notch as an instructor. If you've ever been curious to try a new sport, this is an excellent place to start!

  I have been learning BJJ from Professor Brown for little less than a year now. Professor Brown is an excellent instructor and one of his greatest strengths is his attention to detail and ability to communicate those details. This makes Prof. Brown very easily understandable even to beginners. In addition to his skills in practicing and teaching BJJ, Prof. Brown provides a very hospitable, clean and safe environment which makes him and his gym very accessible which is very important when starting your journey in BJJ.
  
  In conclusion, I would highly recommend Alpharetta Martial Arts and Prof. Brown without any hesitation.

  Brian is an excellent instructor in that he takes a genuine interest in every student and devotes the time to help you achieve your JiuJitsu goals. Brian’s classes are fun and you’ll be getting into shape in no time. When I started Brazilian JiuJitsu I was out of shape, and the gym was quite boring for me, I started my journey and within a few months I was in better shape and couldn’t wait for the next class. I learned a lot from Brian and can attribute several of my sneaky submissions due to his tutelage. Thanks Brian!

  I visit Alpharetta Martial Arts very often. Professor Brian Brown has an incredible way instructing his students. He is an extremely knowledgeable BJJ black belt and takes the time with each of his students to insure they are learning what he teaches. He treats everyone with respect and I enjoy my time there. I would recommend this gym to any BJJ practitioner, no matter your skill set. You will welcomed with open arms.

Diego Saraiva. Owner/ Head Instructor. Born in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, Diego began Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at 12 years old. By 20, he had moved to the United States to compete and teach. He received his black belt in January 2002 from Guilherme Santos. Jiu Jitsu is a family affair in the Saraiva household. His wife, Fernanda, is a purple belt.
