Sugar Hill Golf Club

Just played the course for the first time yesterday. Was concerned with the low rating, however was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course. Greens were pretty nice, and decently maintained. The layout of the course is somewhat challenging though. The front nine has quite a few boomerang dog leg holes, and hole number 9 is a z shape layout which seemed a tad odd. You also are hitting a lot of shots with no real view of the green. If you are unfamiliar with the course you may be teeing off not knowing where the green is. It is also extremely hilly but all in all I enjoyed the round.

Pros: Condition of the course was nice, check in was smooth staff in the pro shop was friendly as well as the course marshall. Water and ball wash stations were added back to the course. Played at 3:30 and the price was great.

cons: Score cards are printed on cheap printer paper instead of card stock. They don't allow you to drive the golf cart into the parking lot? I guess to prevent guests from loading up their own beverages from a cooler. Pro shop is also small and doesn't provide a large selection.

Overall Was impressed with course and condition compared to the price. It was definitely a great value and we had a great time.

Course has made great improvments in the last three years. I moved here about 3 years ago and have played the course about 5 times in those 3 years. Yesterday was the best shape it has been in and we really enjoyed the round. Pace of play was great for a Saturday and there was a mix up with our tee time but they managed to get us another time. We were supposed to tee off at 10:40 but they accidentally booked us for Sunday and not Saturday. They found us another time at 11:40 and we ended up having a great time. The range has also been improved with new mats. They are the nice ones that hold a tee as well. I think they are the Reel Feel brand which are the best you can get. I am a 4 handicap and love how the course requires you to hit so many different shots. Hot Dogs are pretty good as well. I bought 4 in total and took some home to my kids. They approved.

The course and staff are excellent. I play here often and I thoroughly enjoy it. They have the best hotdogs.
