There aren't enough superlatives to describe the physical therapy I received from Dr. Shelby Metz and the staff at this Athletico location. In less than three months after surgery for a complete rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder, I have regained virtually all the movement I had prior to the tear and am on the road to a complete recovery. Unlike the PT I have received in Chicago, Valparaiso, and other locations in Cincinnati, I was told what was being done, why it was being done, and the likelihood of success. Shelby was patient, understanding, and effective throughout my entire PT experience. I would highly recommend Athletico for any PT needs, and will certainly use them should the need arise in the future.

Great team! I had a work related injury. Shane and the Montgomery team took great care of me! Shane worked to get me the visits I needed and returned me back to my prior pain free self! If you have a severe ankle sprain don’t think it will heal on its own. Take the time you need and get a fantastic therapist to get you up and running again! Great job!

I’ve suffered for 20+ years with severe TMJ issues causing constant facial pain and aching, ear pain, difficulty chewing and even difficulty talking at times. I started getting Botox (not cheap or covered by insurance) and also TMJ massages by my dentist. This worked really well for a year or so, but I got to the point of severe pain just a few weeks after a large round of Botox I was crying at the dentist begging for help. I had called around to several physical therapists in the area, but everyone said they did not work on the jaw. My dentist found Shane, and referred me. I called immediately and was able to get in the next day. With just one visit, the severe pain causing constant tears was gone. I finally had hope and it was comforting to know Shane really cared and wanted to help me. So many times in the past I’ve been told my issues are too chronic and providers would not even attempt to help me. It was such a crazy experience to go from constant pain to basically none.

Prior to seeing Shane, I was seeing a different PT for knee pain and swelling. I switched over to Shane for that and after 6 months of knee pain, he fixed me knee in just a couple weeks.

Aside from Shane being awesome at what he does, the environment is awesome. You are treated like a friend and like you’ve known Tiffany, Ty, and Shane forever. I’m thankful and forever grateful for the time, help, compassion, and fun I’ve had while being treated and fixing the TMJ issues that have plagued me almost my whole life.

Really impressed by Shelby and her staff!! I came to her with very painful plantar fasciitis and after two sessions feeling much better. Tiffany at the front desk is very kind and welcoming! Ryan the rehab aid was as helpful. Highly recommend!

Shane, Tiffany, Erin, and everyone else I’ve met on staff are just fantastic to spend time with every week and they’re all above and beyond amazing at what they do. I genuinely look forward to every appointment not only because my body feels better, but because I know I’m going to laugh a lot with the staff and even other patients while I’m there. The overall vibe is super friendly and everyone has been so supportive of my health and fitness journey from the jump. I started out working with Alicia (who is also great) and was a little bummed when she moved locations, but Shane picked right up where she left off seamlessly and I’ve seen progress getting stronger with less pain every week. I’m so thankful to everyone at the Athletico in Montgomery for creating such a great experience for me! Y’all are the best!
