A MUST-SEE attraction in Oahu on the North Shore with waterfalls. This was my favorite activity!! Words can't describe the beautiful botanical gardens or the walk that leads up to the waterfalls that you can swim under and cool off with. Life jackets are provided. There's restrooms you can change into a bathing suit. This was picturesque perfect and shows off Oahu's beautiful tropical paradise. I spent a half day here slowly taking in all the beauty of nature. The waterfalls captivated me. Definitely add this to your to- do list even if your only in Oahu for a couple days island hopping. I stopped here and then went to Sunset Beach which is highly rated and right down the road from Waimea Valley.
Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, and so much history! Incredible place to visit for the whole family. Swimming in the waterfall was great; yes there are a lot of people, but everyone seemed pretty respectful and happy to share the falls for pics. Make sure to stop and make your own haku lei! Don't forget to bring cash to tip along the way!
Incredible garden and property. The views and walking path to the falls are amazing! And the food at the snack shack is really good too! A bonus considering most attractions have little food options and low quality. Highly recommend 👍
Absolutely breathtaking views of the valley and flora of the island. I must've stopped every few steps just to take a photo of all the flowers and plants and wildlife roaming the area. Without a doubt this my favorite stop during my vacation.
Everything growing is labeled so you know exactly what you're looking at. And believe me there is so much to see.
Also I loved the explanations from the guides at the Hawaiian village huts. I wanted to learn more about life for natives to the island and the guides were so friendly and knowledgeable. I must've had a million questions and they explained everything perfectly.
Please do not pass this place up! You can choose to walk or pay for a ride (cash only) but I promise you it's well worth exploring by walking.
They also have restrooms along the paths and heading towards the waterfall they offer changing rooms if you want to swim in the watering hole as well as a place to get water and food (accepts card and cash).
This place is absolutely gorgeous, there is about 0.8 miles paved path up to a waterfall where one can swim. Life jackets are provided for free near the waterfall. It felt like a serene walk through nature and you learn about a lot of old Hawaiian culture. The pretty scenery makes this an excellent place for photos 😍
