A beautiful part of the island that sees very little tourism, it's a true spot for the locals. A very clean beach, despite the amount of local foot traffic in the area which is always awesome to see. Waves are calm and the sand isn't too rocky. This is definitely a relaxation/BBQ beach than a surf/swim beach.
Sweet serenity among the Ironwood trees. Camping with permit allowed. Public restrooms & showers across the highway. Usually too silty for snorkeling. Scenes from Elvis' movie, Blue Hawaii filmed across the highway, in the coconut Grove, which is very source now.
Very pretty. Maybe not a good place to swim, but a good place to read a book or have a picnic. A lot washes up on the shore including driftwood, plants, and plastic. Would be a great place for beach clean up if you have the time/heart. Lots of chickens :). Not busy at all.
This is a great protected beach with very small waves if any. It's almost as calm as a lake, and only about as deep as your chest (adult). It's great for kids since it's sandy and calm and for kayaking. There are some shady spots too. The only issue is the bathrooms are across Kam highway, but honestly not too far or a bad walk.
Love this beach but it needs our help. Especially in winter time, the plastics that wash up every day completely inundate the sand. Take a bucket or grocery bag and gloves when you go, spend 20 min picking up plastics. You’ll feel good about yourself and help this wonderful beach.
