The TSA people were nice and helpful, but at 9 in the morning there were no food options open at all. When you're about to board a 6 hour flight it would be nice to be able to buy some food first to take for lunch since you can't currently buy anything on board either.
For right now, it's a ghost town! Very easy to drop off rental car and make your way to your your airline and check in. Not many places open during to COVID-19, but that understandable. Any last minute gifts you want to get, get them before going to the airport. If more people would people were there and more stores open, I could have seen how the airport really worked, but I understand they are doing their part trying to keep people safe.
Terminal C at 6 pm during COVID19.
We were flying from Kauai to Kona on Southwest which meant we had a layover here.
Our layover was less than an hour, so we didn't spend much time at this airport. We flew into a very small area of the airport with two gates and flew out of the gate next to it. Stairs led to the rest of the airport which we didn't explore.
Our little section was nice and modern. There were lots of outlets which I appreciated. The bathrooms were nice. There weren't any restaurants by us, but there was a little snack stand.
While I'm not sure how the rest of the airport is, the part we saw was nice.
