Hands down amongst a lot of travel this is right up there as one of the most memorable experiences. Ross was our Hawaii Campers guy and he couldn’t have made the customer experience any better. Our first choice of van didn’t suit but he was understanding and found a solution and we were on our way with ‘Lucy’. The van was great, bedding awesome and the convenience of kitchen etc well set up. There is something very magical pulling your van into some of the most glorious locations on the planet to spend the night. Everyone loves a little five star luxury but in many ways it doesn’t compete with this option. Just for getting close and connected with life. Hawaii Camp Surfers rock. We will be back and can’t wait.
Had a 10/10 experience with Hawaii Surf campers! We rented Big T which was very spacious and had AC! Our friends rented Honeycombe which was also great! They also provided a map of campsites which was very helpful. Ross was the best at showing us everything there was to know about our van and was super kind! Highly recommend this experience! 🤙
Amazing experience with a plus
Ian is a such nice guy who offered me a surf lesson. NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE THAT VIBE! Super recommend 🤙🏾
My wife and I usually travel to resorts, but we knew in order to enjoy the real Hawaii we needed to leave the city of Honolulu. After lots of research we chose Hawaii Surf Campers. We own vintage cars so we had to go with Juniata Banana. She treated us well BUT we knew she was old school. If you was an easy to drive / smooth ride choose one of their newer models. BUT then again if you want waves and smiles and thumbs up along the way, she is your gal. We did both pick up and deliveries which were on time and cost effective in our opinion. Everything as promised was in the camper. The onboard power and propane stove worked very well for cooking and keeping our food cold. Request folding chairs, they are nice. We used a mix of government and private campsites during our 5 nights. Here are some pictures, we even met up with some of Juniata’s Bros. Andrew and Jay Johnson Nova Scotia Canada.
Professional, courteous, and extremely hospitable.
Why see Hawaii in a camper van? The freedom to go wherever you'd like, but more importantly stay wherever you like, *whenever* you like, is a feeling better than any 5-star resort could provide. I say this having left the Ritz Carlton in Maui en route to our camper van in Oahu.
Why Hawaii Surf Campers? Each VW van has its own personality and is cared for and maintained extremely well. Saying goodbye to our van "Cocoon" (we called her Coco), was as hard as leaving Hawaii itself. The looks and waves you get driving her around make you feel even more welcome and definitely tricked everyone into thinking I was somewhat cool- it was a good feeling and a lie that I was happy to go along with.
You may have reliability concerns about driving a 50-year-old vintage vehicle around Oahu- we had a minor mechanical problem (our fault). One phone call and then within 15 minutes two mechanics showed up. We went across the street for a cup of coffee and then we heard Coco start up before we got our order.
The airline lost our luggage on arrival and our driver waited patiently for us at the airport, well over an hour before the airline could verify it was lost. Rest assured, Hawaii Surf Campers has your back from the time you step off the plane until you're getting back on.
If there was a rating above 5 stars they would earn it, no question. I rarely like to do the same vacation twice, but I would do another Hawaii trip with Hawaii Surf Campers without hesitation.
