American Ostrich Farms

I received my order a beautiful ostrich egg. I have already ordered another one. I have purchased more ostrich eggs and have decorated one of them.

This was quite the experience. Their location, well South of Boise on Pleasant Valley road. The last 1/4 mile on dirt. There is no store, just a person sitting in her car. DO not show up before 4pm. There are lots of signs, none of which apply to their retail sales.
The meat products were packaged and flash frozen. And expensive. $18 per pound. Meat is super lean protein. The taste was not unique.

At Christmas 2020, I sent ostrich meat (fan filets and ground ostrich) to my two brothers, my best friend and hunting partner, and an amazing work colleague. I also purchased some for our family. Just made burgers last weekend. My family and I agreed...the BEST burger ever! The quality and flavor of this meat it unsurpassed! I love good ground beef. I prefer elk. But ostrich takes the number one spot for a delicious burger that is memorable! Just placed an order for another 10 lb of the ground! Simply outstanding!

I first noticed American Ostrich Farms' freeze-dried ostrich eggs at Bark 'n Purr in Boise while looking for a new treat for my puppy, Cora. I really wanted to find locally sourced treats rather than the typical ones you see in the large retail stores. We bought just one bag of dehydrated ostrich eggs that day, but I wish we'd gotten a bunch more! I love that they come packaged in various amounts, which I've since given as gifts for Cora's furry cousins and fur-ends. I'm glad that there's only a single ingredient - 100% ostrich egg - and I couldn't recommend this treat more highly. Cora ain't complaining either.🐾

I've been enjoying the local ostrich products from American Ostrich Farms for a couple of years now. Whether it's the ground meat I make into burgers, the steaks that we just had on our pasta, the oil for our dogs noses or the treats for our dogs, it's all delicious, healthy and local. The price is excellent for the product produced and knowing the source of your food is always a plus.
