Excellent food and service
This place is kinda out of the way. But worth searching for. They have a built-in electric temperature controlled stove in the middle of each table for hot pot. The menu is mostly Szechuan. The Mapo tofu is dirt cheap as it's a special. It's not the best, but for 4 bucks I am not complaining. The rest of the menu is vaaast. Go with a group of friends to really enjoy. When you go here, also visit the grocery store next door.
Very nice spice food & sea food, restaurant is big and roomy for party as well
They offer very tasty Sze Chuan! In fact, I prefer it to a good number Sze Chuan restaurants in Chicago! The Dou ban fish is very very delicious and their special tofu is pretty good. The service though was a complete disappointment! We had to wait for a host(ess) to guide us to a table for some time! Then we had to wait another 10-15 minutes for someone to attend us and offer beverages. Needless to say that the story was repeated when taking our order. In general, they seem to be a bit disorganized but very friendly once you have them attending you!
It's like in between hot pot and Korean BBQ. Very interesting experience. I had never had anything like it. The food was delicious and the waiting staff was really friendly, and helped us (since we were very clearly confused as to how to do anything). Overall a great experience. However, since most of the food comes raw and unmarinated it can be hard to enjoy the flavor, since it really relies on you to mix the sauces well
