“After going into this store a couple times to do hands-on research for a new laptop and having a few interactions with some of the clerks on the floor, I actually wound up asking one, "What has happened to Best Buy?" As a result of several atrocious experiences with making legitimate returns, I swore off buying *anything* at Best Buy for more than a decade. I haven't even walked in one in 10 years. But now, gone are the seedy stores bathed in fluorescent light and cheap floor tile. This store is beautiful and clean outside and in. Wide, carpeted walkways with low shelving and handsome displays run throughout. The employees are incredibly knowledgeable about the products (without picking up the box I just read and reading the information on it back to me ). They approach to see if you need help and seem genuine about the offer. And they will leave you alone until you approach them when you say you are just looking for now. Oddly enough, after a couple visits to look at computers, I instead bought my first PS4. The clerk who helped me patiently stayed with me for nearly 15 minutes answering all my questions, sharing his knowledge and opinions while I made my decision. In this conversation he told me that after the financial meltdown in 2008, BB got a new CEO who significantly revised the company's mission and then went about making it real. The result of that was to invest heavily in their employees by sending them to on-going professional learning all over the country pertaining to sales, product knowledge, customer support, and management for those who wish to advance within the company. After years of disparaging Best Buy, it's a pleasant surprise to see a company make such a turnaround. I'm cautiously optimistic about shopping here more in the future.”
