Chicago Glass Collective

My wife and I were gifted a glass blowing class from our daughter for our birthdays. We have attended other glass blowing classes elsewhere but they had never been hands on. Not so for this class. We made six tree ornaments, from choosing the colors, through heating, blowing and tempering. Leslie was our instructor and she was great! She explained the process, key visuals to watch for during the process and demonstrated. She them coached each of us (8 total in the class) through making our first ornament before turning us loose to make the rest on our own. My wife and I only managed to get 5 ornaments because we blew a little to hard on one each and were left with large flexible glass bubbles. (Two videos attached show our yellow and blue fails) Cool to see and experience in person but very delicate and don't survive handling. What a great experience overall! We will be back! Highly recommend!!!

This class exceeded my expectations. It was very fun and I learned a lot! The teachers are extremely knowledgable and articulated the instructions very clearly. They also created an upbeat, friendly class atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Leslie gave a great fusing intro with coral bowls. First timers all had a great time getting drawn into making their own glass art

We had a great time at Chicago Glass Collective's Ornament workshop. Creating the designs was a breeze. This is probably an oversight on my part: I didn't realize the process for this workshop mostly happens after the class. By that I mean that the fusing occurs in the kiln for 10 hours and that we'd need to pick up the ornaments later. Not a big deal :D

I've since shown photos and video to friends and colleagues in the area, and they were impressed. We'll likely be back again.

Took a glass blowing, make-your-own-ornament class with my husband just before Christmas. It was so much fun! The perfect size- just 9 in the class. Everyone got the perfect amount of one on one instruction time plus time to take what they’d learned and go solo with the glass and torches. Left with four ornaments I made myself and a memorable experience I’d happily repeat
