A great place to eat and drink on the lakefront. Beyond the novelty of converting the old theater into a modern event space and restaurant/bar, it's just lovely to be able to go someplace nice down by the lake. It's a great brunch spot on the weekend. Always get the smashed and fried potatoes regardless of any other food orders. They are ungodly good.
Stopped by to take a look at the restaurant as well as the theater next to it. Both of them look great, new and spacious. Best of all it's right in front of the lake and the views are awesome. The theatre is big and spacious and it had its own Windows and doors facing the lake. I like the high ceilings mostly. The bathroom had sensors for both the soap, water and dryer. Fancy.
Excellent place for events! I was there for a wedding, and it could not have been better, absolutely perfect. The in-house catering is awesome, the facilities are clean and well-kept, the facilities staff are very professional, and the view is about as good as you can get without being in the clouds. Highly recommended.
What an exceptional facility! I attended a Gala here lastnight. It was easy to get to and valet was affordable. The venue itself is gorgeous. The view of the lakefront is spectacular. The staff was attentive and courteous. Food was just okay, but I'm a picky eater. I am definitely looking to host an event at this facility.
Great place to see good locally produced top notch Chicago plays at a very reasonable price by lake front. It's housed in recently renovated building at Fullerton by the lake which it shares with a restaurant by the same name. The theater is run by the Chicago Park District, hence the reasonable price of shows. The restaurant is privately run. Both venues operate year round (at least that's the plan). It will be interesting to see the frozen lake right outside the windows while be warm and cozy enjoying meals and/or catching some plays indoor.
Theater on the Lake offers 4 venue options as well as the opportunity of full use of the building. Polishing this existing jewel on Lake Michigan's shore elevates it to the level of the other major iconic architectural gems.
