(December 21, 2018, 6:34 pm)This place will be our downtown breakfast stop from now on. Fresh baked goods, perfectly cooked food and a lot of it. Which is important when taking your kids. Great service, too. Always crowded. Accept a seat at the bar if offered.
(November 9, 2018, 2:54 pm)Got lunch here with my mom and we both absolutely LOVED this place! The owner, the staff, the hostess, everyone was so friendly and engaging. They all stopped to talk at our table or while standing at the front waiting for our table. This diner style restaurant has the kind of friendliness and welcoming that you don't expect, but completely love!
(November 6, 2018, 2:12 am)I love this place. The food is great and atmosphere is fun with lots of interesting facts about Route 66 and the history of the restaurant. Also, there is a wonderful lady who greets you at the door with donut holes every time.
(November 4, 2018, 3:00 pm)A must visit breakfast spot at the beginning of the historic and scenic Route 66. Portions are large but everything is tasty. Worth the wait in line to get a table, and plus the owners often give away donut holes to the guests in the cue. Experience America like it used to be.
(November 2, 2018, 12:44 pm)We got off an Amtrak at 6 am on a Monday morning and looked for the best breakfast in Chicago. We arrived at Lou Mitchell's. Wow! The service was great and the food was delicious. We felt right at home. This place has a great reputation. I wasn't disappointed.
