“The Grandpa for which this store is named was Hank Morello, owner and operator of Hank's Candy Store duering my childhood days. Ogden grade school is located right across the street and a Catholic grade school is kiddy-corner to the store as well. Hundreds of kids used to mob this store daily when I went through grades 1-6 at Ogden. In fact, as a younf paper route guy I used to stop in every single morning and tank up on glazed donuts and other sugary delights. Now Hank's is a gourmet cake and catering company run by his grand-daughter. We communicated via email and later by phone last year after I had seen the name of the store show up on Google maps and was surprised to see it still surviving. I have many stories concerning this great little store. If you stop in, tell her I sent you. EDIT: So here I am finally, Sept.22, 2018, visiting My Grandpa's Store and meeting Gina. I've returned to LaGrange after 50 years and am enjoying my 50th high school reunion at LTHS. I haven't walked inside this sacred candy shrine since my old grade school across the street, Ogden Avenue School, in 1961.....mid-boggling, eh? The store was started way back in the 1930's, I believe, though I did lose track of the exact chronology as Gina explained the photos that chronicle the grandparents, parents, children, and grand-children that have run this store. It should be certified and put on the National Register of Historical sites for sure. The photos and old telephones make this establishment more of a museum than you can imagine....oh, the memories......such a great time we all had....”

“We arrived at this store at 6:40 on 10/ 11 and found they closed st 6:30. The door was locked. We were walking back to our car when one of the employees opened the door and she asked what we were there for. We were dropping off a modem. She kindly said come on in, we will take care of you. There were also 3 other employees who were working there and none of them seemed to be bothered by the fact that they had to work past quitting time to take care of me. There were also 2 other people who came in after me and they took care of them also. I was flabbergasted by this! I’m used to stores closing 5 minutes earlier and ignoring people at the door. These employees should be commended for their hard work and customer service. What they done is unheard of these days, and I really appreciated them saving me a return trip because of me not checking ahead to see what time they close. Thank you for being here and I will always use this location for all my transactions thanks to your dedicated employees! ????”

“We had a very large plumbing job done over the winter months by MNN Plumbing (upgrade water line, drain tile, sump pump, & overhead sewer installation). The guys did a great job, even in the freezing cold! They are polite, courteous, and work within your schedule. The plumbing work was done with no issues, and completed when they said they would be done. Coordination with the wonderful office staff helped keep the project rolling along. I will definitely use MNN Plumbing in the future!”

“A quaint little shop in the Burr Ridge strip, not the biggest, not the cheapest but certainly rates up there with the best. The cakes, donuts, sweet rolls and coffee cakes are delicious. Being a true Danish bakery they never disappoint when it comes to quality. Kolacky are also good and the selection is simple: apricot, cheese, raspberry or cherry. Have not had them bake a custom cake yet but others rave about them. You must try one of the Bismarck or chocolate custard filled donuts. They could be in their own food groups.”

“Great overall experience at Chicago Fine Motors. My sales Rep. was Chris I went to look at a 09 Jeep Wrangler Chris was very knowledgeable of the vehicle and set me up for a test drive the following day. The Jeep was in the inside showroom a lot of cars needed to be moved to get it out.I was short on time so I decided to come back the next day. No pressure to wait and buy that day it was a very relaxed atmosphere. Took the Jeep for a nice long test drive the following day and everything checked out. Couple minor issues but nothing I couldn't handle on my own especially for the very fair price I was paying for the Jeep. Bob the finance guy took care of all the final paperwork very efficiently and professionally.I drove out with new plates and a new Jeep. On the drive home on I88 at about 65mph I had some handling issues that concerned me and that I had not noticed on the original test drive. I called Chris and he and the GM agreed to let me bring the Jeep back and that they would take it to their Jeep specialists that they do business with and have it checked out and do "whatever needs to be done to make it right". It took a couple days to get the Jeep into the shop just because of how busy the shop is. I was fine waiting I just wanted it fixed right. Chris kept me updated with what the shop found and what the fix was going to be. When I got the Jeep back it was perfect drove like new. I won't go into the work that was done but I will say it was done right and had some new parts. Chicago Fine Motors paid for all repairs no cost to me. Couldn't be more happy with Chris Bob and the rest of the team at Chicago Fine Motors. We will be looking for a Jeep Cherokee soon to replace our Chevy Sonic and Chicago Fine Motors will be our first Stop. Thanks. Jim H.”
