The park was average until now. A renewal and significant expansion project of the playground equipment is currently underway (September 2018). The new playground should be exciting.

Now re-opened (January 2019) in its expanded form, with a large play structure, curved swingset line, picnic tables, paved walkways, and limited-length ziplines. One former Park Board Commissioner expressed wonder and delight in early 2018 that Glencoe would be installing ziplines in a park.
