Wonderful way to experience the big woods!
Orange trail is paved, about 1.6 miles. Yellow trail is gravel and follows the perimeter. Great for walking or biking. Wonderful way to experience the big woods!
Not busy at all on weekdays. 5 stars 🌟
Great place to walk or run!! Always a nice neighborhood getaway.
This forest preserve is part of a larger cluster in Palatine. There are several miles of trails that are mostly gravel or dirt. Several picnic spots exist and there is plenty of parking available. The Grove is fairly busy on the weekends with nice people to walk with. This is the Western entrance into the park.
I have been running the yellow trail for the last month or so. It's beautiful AND a big workout for an old guy. it's about a 6 miles loop with nice elevation changes. It can be dicey when it gets wet, but that's part of the fun/high. The leaves are starting to turn and it's a great time to visit your local cook county forest preserves.
Palos park has better trail system, but this is an awesome place if you're in the northwest suburbs.
