Love this bookshop! Employees are extremely helpful and kind. Great selection of books at reasonable prices. Definitely worth checking out.

I have long loved this bookstore for its selection of mysteries and histories. While I'm not a Sherlock Holmes guy, there's plenty for those who are fans. The shop is cozy and inviting, and it has long held the most extensive collection of those historical coloring books for kids. The owners do a terrific job of cultivating local authors, sponsoring countless events and contributing much to the Forest Park scene.

This place is more than just books! Aside from the mystery and history,
including the $5 bundle, there are historical coloring books and there are jigsaw puzzles! I can't imagine where I could find another World of Dickens jigsaw puzzle. Things that I didn't buy are already calling me back to the store. Also Augie is awesome !

Our extended family has been shopping at C & S since Augie opened his store in Oak Park, before the move to Forest Park a long time ago. We return year after year because of the great service (along with the interesting titles). We can buy books anywhere, but here we can browse the shelves and get personalized suggestions from an owner who knows our interests and our taste.

A Gem on Madison Street for readers & folks who like independent owned businesses with character. They have been in business for 30 years! Happy I stopped in and I look forward to returning soon. Cheers!
