“Thanks to Yelp, I found this post office while in route to my destination. As an avid eBay seller & shipper I tend to visit many post offices around Chicago & Chicagoland while headed to-and-from either school or work. My visit was at the spare of the moment, so I had no idea what to expect. With most post offices being crowded after hours I kept thinking that I would run into that situation, but then again it just happened to be a Friday afternoon, so I gave it a shot. I thought to myself many customers are so eager to start their weekend that they may have chose to not visit. As for this visit it was odd and brief because I can tell that both clerks minds were not at work. To describe the vibes, it felt like I interrupted something that had the clerks attention and the clerk wanted to get me out as quickly as possible to resume. The clerk was so quick to get me out that she forgot to give me my twenty-five cents from the sale. I did not stress it because it was only twenty-five cents. She is probably use to everyone using credit & debit cards instead of flat-out cash. However, my only hope is that they do not screw the shipping of my package up, which has not happened in a while. That encounter alone had me slightly worried about my package making it to its destination. Leaving here was chaotic because of the traffic on Lawrence Ave headed towards Western Ave, which resulted in me altering my route to leave. Take note of when you choose to visit because you will experience not only that, but long lines in this USPS during select times & days. Now that I have found and visited this post office I'm quite sure that I will visit again on rare occasions. Thomas G”

“VFW hosted my parents 50th anniversary party. VFW hall 5858 S Archer was the ORIGINAL location for the 1968 reception. The veterans and family that work the hall were wonderful. Mom made several trips to check out different setups. Lots of room for dancing, the have a DJ that does a lot of work there for a special rate. Food was brought in from several local places supporting Garfield Ridge. The bartenders were fast and friendly. The event was a huge success and everyone had a great time. Highly recommend.”

She went out of her way to give me some great advice about how I wrapped a particular package, and to save me as much money as possible on the other, which I was very grateful for. By time we left, my mother was so happy I convinced her to go the extra miles to get to this particular post office; she couldn't stop raving about how wonderful the service was!! Thank you! :)”

“Far better than NorthTown USPS. People are friendly, no waiting, my Priority Pkgs get to Distribution Ctr in good time. It's hard to find, but once you do - you'll choose to use THIS PO. I see many complaints in Reviews of this location, and can think nothing but "they've never had to deal with NorthTown", or they expect this to be a facility that handles and provides all full service functions. It is NOT, but does everything this type of location is supposed to.”

“When we came by around 11 a.m. on a Saturday morning, we had roughly 20 pounds to send throughout the country. There was only one staff working at that time. Her name was China, one of the most helpful and friendly USPS staff we have ever met in the whole country. She told us how to keep the price down by using the right package or using the free envelop to pack the items which I really appreciate. Thanks to her, we saved quite a significant amount of money.”
