(March 8, 2023, 10:50 pm)Lisle station is a commuter railroad station along Metra's BNSF Line in Lisle, Illinois. The station is at 1000 Front Street, 24.4 miles (39.3 km) from Union Station, the east end of the line. As of 2018, Lisle is the 10th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 1,895 weekday boardings. It is near the Village Hall on Burlington Avenue and the St. Joan of Arc School. Parking for the station is also available near these locations, as well as further east near St. Joseph Creek Road and as far north as Ogden Avenue. Amtrak trains pass through the station but do not stop.
Lisle station was originally built by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad in 1864. A fire destroyed the first railroad depot, but it was rebuilt in 1874 by the CB&Q. Currently, the station has a much more contemporary appearance, and even contains a pedestrian tunnel.
(May 22, 2019, 8:37 am)We are here staying with friends and had a convention in Downtown Chicago. The attendant at the ticket booth has alway been very nice to us and very helpful. It was the easiest way to commute to the city. Ticket prices aren't bad at all. Seniors over 65 get a discount at the window. If you forget to purchase at the ticket booth and have cash you can buy one on the train with a conductor. Everyone running the train has been super helpful.
(March 5, 2019, 8:37 am)If you’re not a monthly parking pass holder do not use Lisle station before 8AM. The office sells daily parking passes beginning at 7:55AM. Downers Grove has pay-boxes for daily parking - use them for earlier departures.
I didn’t see a lot F unless I’m blind.

(September 26, 2018, 4:22 am)I use this station for for basic needs other than daily commuting. It is fine overall. My only observation is to not that if you park in the far commuter parking lot, it is a little over a third of mile to the station. Couple that with going through the tunnel to the inbound side, it can add several minutes to the time needed to park and catch your train. As with most Metra commuter lots, it is completely full until the first mid-afternoon outbound train arrives, so finding a space closer to the station is non likely.
Bottom line, add 5 minutes to what you think your station arrival time is and you will be fine.
(September 25, 2018, 10:06 pm)One of the best stations for Metra in the western burbs, other than the parking situation. Most inbound express trains at this stop originate here, meaning that the train is often sitting at the station waiting to depart. Very nice in the winter months to wait on the train instead of standing outside.
Monthly parking wait list is years long and they eliminated all of their daily parking spots. There are various private lots where you can get a quarterly/monthly permit including a near by church.
