The therapists here are top notch. Everyone was so friendly and helped me through the early stages of a CP diagnosis for my son. The owner is a wonderful person who truly cares.
Our son had OT at Turning Wheels with Shanna Platten and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was very kind, understanding, and patient with our son during his time at Turning Wheels. She always had the time to chat to us about how he was doing in sessions, answer any questions we had, and always was willing to help in any way that she could. The facility is also very clean and welcoming to children which was great. I would recommend Turning Wheels to anyone considering pediatric therapy and I would especially recommend Shanna for your child's OT needs. Thanks again for everything!
I wish I was better with words so I could accurately communicate in this review what a blessing Turning Wheels and specifically Ashley (SLP) has been to my two year old son (and to me).
After having my son’s speech evaluated at a different larger therapy office in Wheaton I almost decided to wait on therapy because it was such a crummy experience but I contacted turning wheels and I am so glad I did. Everything that was lacking in the first place, that I was hoping for, I found at Turning Wheels. My initial conversations and communications with the office were great, they were so helpful, informative, kind and timely. At our first visit I was so impressed with the space, the house is beautiful, the rooms and all the toys were so clean and nice, so much seemed like new. Being over half his life has been a pandemic my son has barely been away from me and he’s a little shy but he loved and warmed up to Ashley right away. She is the BEST. So incredibly warm and dynamic. Not to mention his speech has EXPLODED under her therapy which is obviously why we were there! Honestly what we needed was more than a place where his speech would develop, we needed a place where I felt like I could completely trust the therapist where my son would feel welcomed and safe and loved! We found that in turning wheels and Ashley. After six months and thousands of words added he has his last appointment this week, we will miss it but we are so grateful!
And just a couple more things that stood out to me about our experience with Turning Wheels: on the way out the kids get to pick a tiny prize or lollipop after every session, isn’t that just sweet and fun?! When having to cancel because of sickness a few times they were so understanding and accommodating. Also when I had questions about insurance and a change in my husbands employer they couldn’t have been more helpful.
When the SLP at my daughter's school suggested outside therapy, Turning Wheels was one of the locations on the list she provided. They were able to see my daughter within the same week I contacted them. My daughter has had a few in-person, and now Teletherapy, sessions. She looks forward to working with Ashley every week. It is not work, just play time, in my daughter's eyes, which is amazing, especially since I have seen improvement in such a short period of time. I highly recommend Turning Wheels!
