A good place to take a quick leisurely walk around the small lake. They do have a small paved loop and are close they paved bike trails. The adjacent park has basketball courts.
Lots of great walking trails, even on the water. Also plenty of places to stop and just enjoy the views.
This was a great place to take a walk and see lots of Canada Geese, woodpeckers, red winged blackbirds, bluebirds, and cardinals. Look at the mud for some deer and raccoon prints. There are educational placards about common snakes in Illinois, plenty of benches scattered throughout and some lookout spots. The native plants are lovely even in late fall and are probably a sight to see in spring. The reeds are a hiding spot for birds, including the woodpecker.
Love the preserve with it's water fowl, lush foliage, walking trails and awesome nature.
Very picturesque
Fabulous place for a walk or run. Lots of nature to enjoy!
