Silver Lake Rest Stop

Very clean, air conditioning works perfectly. Snacks are not over priced. Would pee here again.

Good rest stop. Gren areas taken care of well. Rest rooms reasonably clean.

Rest area outskirt of St Louis heading east on I-70. Good place for a quick stop before driving east. The National Trail Rest Stop Eastbound is closed.

this is an older rest stop .. or at least it appears so .. it has however, been relatively well maintained !
stopped for relief approx 1 hr east of STL (so I could think straight if you get my drift ..) too much cherry coke and time to switch drivers ..
by the look of it as I drove up, I felt somewhat ambivalent but was anxious to just ~ go ~ to the ladies lounge and get back on the road .. the bathrooms were clean and definitely exceeded expectations ..
the weather was clear but it was freezing cold (not kidding . Freezing . Arctic Winds . 14 degrees w/a high of 25 that whole day of Missouri driving, and colder once crossing into Illinois going to Indiana ..)
I just wanted something quick and it was just that .. well stocked toilet paper that rolls without tugging 1or 2 sheets at a time, and water tho no paper towels .. ok . no big deal for my seeking fast relief ..
seems they had just cleaned it so my timing was impeccable .. the outside area has 4 different receptacles for recycling .. theres benches and tables available to outside picnic for those families who want to just make some sandwiches to eat or hav a quick break away from the car .. this area obviously not used during my stop but I can imagine how this would be a handy amenity during warmer, summer months ..
seems well maintained, it is what it is .. older public facility convenient for typical interstate needs .. this review is for the roadside Silver Lake Rest Stop off I-70 eastbound in Highland, IL . 4 stars .
