I was in need of recording a CD with Spanish songs for kids that I wrote for a project that began to be developed in the USA, called “Vientos del Aula”. “The Fold is about an hour away from me, way in the middle of nowhere, but it is worth the trek. My knitting group tries to go a few times a year as a group to save on gas. The store has a good mix of yarn and fiber. They have a lot of spinning expertise, and while I don't personally spin, friends who do have said this is a good place to get materials and help when needed. The yarn selection is wide and there are brands that you can't even get in Chicago. They have a huge selection of Blue Moon in various weights and bases. There is a good range of lovely expensive yarn and more workhorse inexpensive brands. There is also some quality acrylic for when you have to make things for babies or people incapable of hand washing. The owner is welcoming and friendly, and there is a big friendly dog in the shop. The dog is very laid back and is usually sunning himself on the floor, and he is very gentle and accepts pets and belly rubs. All members of my knitting group are very satisfied with our purchases and experience every time we shop! It's well worth the drive.”
