“I moved to the Chicago area 5 months ago, leaving a very reasonable and very awesome Vet practice in Colorado that my ferrets frequented. Looking for a specialty vet practice was a challenge, especially one close by. I have been to 2 practices in the Illinois area, that specialize specifically in Exotics, and what I found were, mostly a very cold staff with sky rocket prices, double of what I was paying in CO. I will say now, that in the past couple of years, my view on VCA hospitals have completely changed. Forest South is outstanding, Dr. Johnson is spectacular, she listens - she talks with you and not at you. She is compassionate, smart, and you can tell she truly cares about her profession. Being in the Vet industry, is not easy. It is difficult work, and sometimes I believe these individuals are not praised and thanked enough. Dr. Johnson is the only doctor in Illinois that I will ever take another exotic to. She would call me, even on her days off about any lab results or updates regarding our situation. I recently just had to say goodbye to my little girl, after fighting Insulinoma for many years, and it was such a good experience from a service point of view. They saw me the same day I called, had me in a room with paperwork already brought up within 30 seconds of entering the building. The whole process took a little over a half hour, and was peaceful. Thank you to Dr. Johnson and the wonderful staff for your kindness and hard work. You will be seeing the rest of my small army as long as I am in Illinois.”
