Great place for little and big dogs to run free. Some owners don’t watch their dogs as much as they should but that happens everywhere - ENJOY!!
Nice hiking area with wooded sections and views of the river. Ample parking lots with clean restrooms (modern outhouse).
Beautiful place to visit with your children. Especially viewing the minnows and finding small shells, great Educational opportunity. I only wish they would have built a playground for elementary aged children.
This reserve area is amazing! It's part of the Des Plains Park sprawl and follows the river much like the other parks in the area. There are a few entrances to this particular reserve via major/convenient roads as well as entrances via two neighboring parks. The reason I'm giving five stars is for their dog park. I'm not sure exactly how large the dog park is but I believe it's at least five acres! Fenced! A stream runs through it! I've never seen such a large public dog park. Truly a great experience for any dog who wants to run off-leash to their heart's content!
