Back 40 Flying Club

Really a tremendous flying club. The Back 40 currently features three aircraft (a Cessna 172, a Piper Archer, and a Vans RV-12), two of which are based at Fort Wayne International and the RV-12 at Auburn airport. All aircraft are immaculately maintained. Cost to join and the monthly fee are fairly low, and hourly rates are the best in the area - plus they're based on tach time instead of Hobbs time, and with no taxes. Aircraft are scheduled with an app on-line, and insurance is included with your club membership. I can't imagine a better club setup!

Joining this flying club has completely changed my life when it comes to flying. I joined the week I got my Private Pilot certificate as a fresh pilot. I was welcomed with open arms by the other members. The club continues to invest in the airplanes by constantly making upgrades. These aircraft are the best maintained airplanes you could possibly find. Not a single imperfection goes unattended to with this club. Flight safety is held paramount over anything else. As the club continues to grow, the Board works to maintain the size to where reserving an airplane doesn't become an issue. Recently the club purchased a 3rd airplane and expanded to an additional airport to serve the growing membership. If you're still renting from a flight school, you're wasting your money!
