The Chicken House

We had fried chicken carryout tonight. Great chicken crust. Wonderful chick. n dumplins. The mashed potatoes and gravy are just like grandmas. When I went there in the 50's there was a fence outside with pigs to pet. The restrooms were outhouses lined up outside. I would love to know more history of it.

The Friday Bluegill lunch special for $11.99 was outstanding. Really good tasting fish with a crispy breading mix. The fries have a very light seasoning on them with pepper, not salty...and the cole slaw isn't bad. Service was also good.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere and doing what they can to help maintain a family legacy that was in my husband's Dad's family aka ours. My favorite chicken, but seeing the subdivisions behind was hard, but I am grateful that they are doing everything they can to maintain the house and finding things that they are refurbishing and they are going to use it and I think it is awesome to hear and can't wait to see again as I have been in the family for going on a few decades, but now I understand the history for my family in law, and want to help and the new owners are doing a great job at telling us and allowing some of our family members to look through as it's been sold years ago. Great service and the food was wonderful. Best chicken dumplings this side of glory. The price is a bit spooky, until you see the portions. Seriously 5 wing dinner and 4 sides and a roll. I will definitely be back. The chicken was some of the best I've had in a restaurant.

Great comfort food spot. Good chicken and sides. The chicken and dumplings are a hit always. Added some fresh baked sweets to their menu also. Outside is under construction but will be very nice when completed. The new interior is spacious and clean. Loved the spicy cheese curds. We had great service and will return.
