After years of seeing another physician and being told that my issues/symptoms were just due to stress, I made the decision to get a second opinion. I called IU Health and was able to see Dr. Day Walz the very next day. She listened as I explained what I was experiencing which was a welcomed change. She immediately ordered several different tests to identify potential causes. Late on a Friday, Dr. Day-Walz called me personally to deliver the results of one of these tests. Based on the blood test, she was almost certain that I had Celiac Disease. She referred me to the GI specialist immediately for official diagnosis (which was confirmed). After feeling awful for over 2 years, I finally had an answer and a solution. Without Dr. Day Walz, it is very likely that I would still feel miserable and not have an answer as to why. I highly recommend her to anyone that wants a doctor that will listen and advocate for you. She has a great bedside manner and I have never once felt like just another number/patient.
