(January 20, 2020, 12:28 am)Made a special stop with my family on our way home from vacation and was in awe of this historic gymnasium. The tour guide was fantastic and very informative about this historical gem as well as the filming of Hoosiers. The pride these people have in this community is awesome!!
(December 24, 2019, 2:18 am)If you enjoy the film Hoosiers with Gene Hackman, Dennis Hopper and Barbara Hershey, follow the signs and take a step into the classic film. The gym is as it was during filming. The dressing rooms look the same also. The guide was friendly and knew all about Indiana basketball.
(December 19, 2019, 12:25 am)I was at the Hoosiers Gym today, and I’m rewatching the movie again tonight! I’m well into double figures with this one. I coached at a very small high school in WV and this movie has always been near and dear to my heart.
The folks at the gym are friendly and extremely welcoming. The nice gentleman who took us on the tour of the gym, locker room and other areas confessed that it was his first tour. You could not tell. He was extremely knowledgeable about not only the gym, but every facet of Indiana basketball.
The tour was free, but we happily donated a few dollars to the nice couple in the back who were collecting hundreds of toys and gifts for underprivileged children.
Thank you Hoosier Gym for an unexpected but wonderful stop on our trip from Indianapolis to WV.
(December 17, 2019, 6:29 pm)The guy that runs the gym is extremely friendly and I appreciate the work not only has he done for this gym but also for the other high school gyms in Indiana that are/were endangered. Indiana high school basketball gyms are like no other. Once they are gone they are gone. We need more people stepping up. The building looks the same as it did in the movie. The locker room is the best part. Can't wait to return.
(December 9, 2019, 8:13 am)This Gym is a great Historic location. They actually made a movie in that exact gym. They even have a Peach Basket which was the first ever basketball hoop, they also have the first ever basketball
