“I greatly appreciate Dr Evans ..he listens and responds with care. I’m a disabled vet (Dr Evans is prior service as well which was nice to be able to relate with some old military humor)...being a patient with VA over other medical issues he worked with me over physical therapy as well as addressing pain after surgery...not like some surgeons that want to just push you through and send you back to work.. I first met him over tears in my meniscus which he took care of unfortunately I had stage 4 arthritis in the knee ..I tried the injections that only worked temporarily on the outside of the knee and radio frequency oblation (fried the nerves sending pain signals)on the inside of knee..that procedure actually works..hurts like heck for the few moments it takes to do it and soar the few following days but works...the injections on outside of knee at the ligament that connects from hip to knee..called the “IT Band” was rubbing against arthritis causing mass irritation...so after trying various procedures..some worked some didn’t ..it was decided to do a whole knee replacement... Unfortunately the next day after surgery the nurse who was supposed to be right next to me (because you’re still partially numb and let’s face it now you have a new metal knee...look up the procedure on YouTube ..it’s some serious stuff)..so you have a walker and they put a safety belt on you so if you start to go down they can catch you... My nurse had me going but she was on other side of room nowhere near me to assist me...I fell...it hurt like the devil.. Re X-ray...do a new MRI ...thought we’d have to go back in ...thankfully we didn’t ... but I turned black and blue all up and down my leg...it was very excruciating pain for weeks and he and I both agree that fall did not do anything good for my rehabilitation... So Dr Evans is a great guy... Howard community joint replacement nurses ...the one I had screwed me over badly...a different nurse argued with me..went through my backpack without permission..the patient advocate I asked for told me I wasn’t allowed to take photos in my room where I fell.. The whole ordeal with those people was like dealing with sadistic children from a daycare.. Again ..Dr Evans is awesome.. Howard community sucks and unfortunately unless I’m unconscious I’ll never step foot in that hospital again for anything major.”
