Love this place! So well upkept and the best walking trails with the best views.
Beautiful when there is water!@@
I went on a field trip with my son and it was fun! Loved learning about all the plants and critters and walking the trail.
Great place to go to and have a leisurely stroll and see amazing wildlife. From wetland birds to turtles, and beaver dams to American woodcocks.
This is the quintessential example of what a nature preserve is supposed to be. This place has everything you could expect from a nature preserve. Abundance of wildflowers, meadow grasses, and the hour I spent there I saw an almost impossible to imagine variety of wildlife. From deer to caterpillars and butterflies and a handful of birds that I honestly couldn’t identify alongside the expected avian species like meadowlarks, jays, wrens, and swallows. Also, so long as they are leashed, the preserve welcomes you to bring along your dog. I was barely able to make it halfway through the first trail due to the fact that it was getting dark. The paths are a mix of blacktop, pea gravel and grass all of which are maintained and very clean and well presented. The care and dedication of this particular area are evident as soon as you pull in it’s a top notch Preserve that every Nature enthusiast will appreciate. I drove 40 min to get there and to be honest it would be worth driving 2 hours it’s that good. Plus the trails are thoughtfully marked with descriptions of the history of the Marsh which adds to the experience. I can’t wait to get back and check out the rest! Make this your next stop, it’s worth mentioning that it may be a good idea to pack a lunch or a full family picnic as the trails are extensive and even the most conditioned hikers are likely to be challenged. Have fun!
