Dunkirk City Public Library

The library is decent for its size. The material is easy to find, they also have internet access and computers to use. Adjacent to the library is the local glass museum It’s a must see.

On one of my first visits, I was looking for some history about Dunkirk, not only did I have a chance to visit the glass museum to expand my knowledge, they also allowed me to borrow a book with an account of the town's history. The library staff assisted me in my new Evergreen card, and I was able to continue my research of faery lore, expanding my own knowledge of J.R.R. Tolkien, and borrowed The Faery Reel, both of which combine in that endeavor nicely. I am currently continuing my research into Norse poetics, having an interlibrary loan request started. The staff has been very helpful and kind. A must-visit.

Great little library for the town. They decorated so cute for Christmas. They try really hard to have fun crafts once a week for the kids. The staff has been kind and not bothered by kids just being a little loud lol.
We live outside of town but I was able to go to Jay County library in Portland and get a free library card, which can also be used at the Dunkirk library.

I've been going here for many many years and I've never had any problems. It's always clean, books are easy to find, staff are always friendly.

For those who complain because they have a Dunkirk address but outside of Dunkirk. If you have a Dunkirk address but live in Delaware county, your tax dollars (which is where they get their funding) are going into Delaware, not Jay County where the library is located. All you have to do is pay their fee to be there, it's cheaper than an Amazon prime membership.
