Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que

I have never toured such an majestic property, having such a unique old world character, in such exceptional condition. Truly deserves to be counted in the top 10 hospitality properties in the Hudson Valley. I personally think the best suites are on the second floor facing the river, but really they're all finished to such a high standard you won't be disappointed. The main ballroom has the original hammer beam ceiling which is supported by perfectly balanced, subtle, modern finishes around the windows. You will be hard pressed to find a more outstanding property for events or to stay at.

Had a wonderful weekend stay. Went to the restaurant 3 times and each meal was utterly delicious. Room was comfortable with a stunning view. Had a great massage at the spa. And of course the venue is gorgeous. Staff was all very friendly and helpful!

This is an exceptional space for weddings, parties, corporate events, etc. A beautiful restoration of a former abbey, perched high above a magnificent view of the Hudson river. Lovely grounds, wonderfully decorated, highly photogenic. Very comfortable, gracious staff. Truely a 5 star experience.

Wow!!! Cannot recommend this hotel and spa enough. We came for a spa day and got a couple’s massage and hung out in the whirlpool and sauna and it was THE DREAM. It’s the only day spa in Westchester that offers multiple and top-notch amenities. The former convent-turned-luxury hotel is set on a hill, majestically overlooking the Hudson River. It’s unreal. Every view is stunning and the food at their restaurant Apropos was delicious too (get the burger and the Caesar salad). We were here a couple of hours and it felt like a vacation in a day.

Cannot wait to come back and hopefully stay over (they were sold out when we booked)! This is a very special place.

This place was spectacular. I was looking for something special and this place far exceeded my expectations. The architect and grounds would be worth a visit even if you weren’t staying at The Abbey. The staff is friendly and accommodating, particularly in the restaurant and bar. The farm to table food is beautifully curated, prepared and served. The grounds are impeccably maintained with little nooks and places throughout the property to sit and visit or simply take in the breathtaking views. If you don’t wish to leave the property, you don’t have to given the proximate hiking trails mere steps from the Abbey, built in spa and what can only be described as a 5 star dining experience. If you do leave, you will be best served by having a car but it is not an absolute requirement. There are bikes available for use if you wish and the Abbey staff have a well laid out list of local activities. Do yourself a favor and pack a picnic for a day out on one of the many mountain ranges and then also search “dining with views” for any meals (Valley at Garrison was “Wow” for both the food and the view). The Abbey is worth every penny and then some.

When we arrive for lunch at or around 12:30 We notice not that many patrons in the restaurant here at Famous Dave's anyway the waitress was superb in providing lunch choices and beverages food was very good I had a chicken salad wife had famous Dave's wings, potato sticks, celery, corn muffins 2, with famous Dave's Baroque sauce. The price was very reasonable considering other restaurant. Plenty of room to park the RV behind the restaurant. You have to watch carefully to park. Anyway great place for lunch and perfect experience as a patron. Thanks to staff and management.

I go out of my way for the ribs here!!!

The food was great. But we had a very large party and we were literally split in two and that was less than ideal. Food great. Having a very large get together there not so great.
