  Couldn't recommend Big Gorilla more highly. Cody is a fantastic instructor with a lot of high level competition experience and really makes a point to break down techniques and garner improvement. The atmosphere is inviting, but still driven and intense enough to push you to try your hardest. Been training here for a little less than 2 months and won't be stopping any time soon.

  I've been training here with Prof. Cody for almost 3 years now, starting out knowing next to nothing about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Cody brings years of training and several medal cases worth of competitive grappling experience to each class. That love of competition carries over to his students. Within a few months, I was competing at IBJJF tournaments (and doing fairly well!). Many of the other students have done the same. The walls are covered with medals earned by Big Gorilla students. For those looking to push themselves with competition, Cody has created an environment where you can train with that level of intensity in mind.
  
  While there is a competitive focus, the atmosphere is welcoming to everyone. As that newb walking in almost 3 years ago, I was really impressed with that. Everyone there was helpful and supportive, from the other white belts to the guys training for MMA fights. Even today, that holds true. Sure, many of the students compete but there isn't any pressure to do so on the students that aren't so inclined. And you don't have to worry about hyper-aggressive douchebag types. There aren't any here. Cody has done a fantastic job ensuring that.

  Top notch! Everyone at Big Gorilla BJJ is very welcoming and the training is some of the best around!
  Cody, the black belt instructor, competes at a very high level and that kind of experience shows through his instruction and his students. I feel like I learn better because of his insight into the details of what he teaches us, so we spend more time actually applying the techniques we learn.
  
  I am working on getting back into shape, but no one makes me feel like the odd man out and I feel great since I started training here.

  Great atmosphere and high-level BJJ training here. Cody Miller keeps his classes approachable to the novice and drops nuggets of intricate details sporadically throughout all training sessions. Sparring or "rolling" is allowed after class if you feel like applying what you have learned and the group welcomes new trainees warmly. This is great if you just want to learn some self-defense technique or if you want to compete. Cody's SAS Team competes all the time and they usually bring back gold medals.

  I started out on a different team and at first they were kind enough to let me do just some drop in classes every now and then. Professor Cody is very nice and a very good teacher while also competing at a high level. When it was times for me to make a team switch they opened up for me and let me join. Very competitive and positive environment. Best place to train in central indy.
