Very interesting place. The Mt. Palomar test lenses are here for you to see the rings of Saturn.
Wonderful hidden gem. It was cloudy but the staff opened up the observation room for a tour and had a Q&A for visitors while showing videos and slides.
This observatory was amazing! John Shepherd was amazing and gave me and a friend a great tour! This observatory is rich in history and was like nothing I've ever seen before! If you like astronomical things than this is definitely something you need to see. I would highly recommend! And it's open to the public!
It's very cool place to go on a Saturday night. It is a really cool historical place with some really great carpentry. There are lots of hobbyist astronomers that love talking about and showing what they are looking at.
They posted a invitation on facebook to view through the telescope. Huge turnout, handled well appreciative staff. Was impressive for adults and grand kids, the wait in line was worth it.
