“I was quite surprised at the overall friendliness of everyone. Other campers, the staff at the club house. Was my first experience at CoCoJo's. The grounds were clean and well kept. The drives are nice and smooth. The slips are well marked and have fresh limestone. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience.”

“Loved our experience out here! My dad and I came out here years ago and enjoyed it when it was Pic-a-Spot, and now that we have been able to come again we're more than pleased! The service was great, the atmosphere was friendly and quiet. There is an ice cooler with bagged ice, and our firewood, at five dollars a wheelbarrow load, was bright to the campsite for us instead of us having to haul it. There is a playground of good size and location in the park, so I'd feel fine letting my niece walk there on her own. Best of all, they're pet-friendly for no extra charge!”

“Where do I begin!!?? This place absolutely amazing! It is quite and relaxing, the seasonal campers are nice and will help you any way they can. The staff is nice and friendly. If you call here Mrs. Candy is one hell of a woman, she will help you with anything that you need. 5 stars is not enough to give this camp ground! They are 10+ stars hands down!”

“Such a nice camp... Really beautiful with lots of shade and large beach, playground, boats and seating at Dewart Lake. Lots of camping sites as well as cabins and house lodging. The ppl who run the camp are super nice and have allowed us, if we call ahead, to play disc golf there. They continue to expand what they offer and I'm sure the kids who get to go to camp here have a fabulous time... We also enjoy sitting on shore for Boat-in Worship on Sunday mornings throughout the summer. Our family has had a couple of events here including our daughter's wedding and we loved every minute we spent there. Highly recommended for family/friends events and getaways! 💗”

“Trading Post Outfitters is a little bit out of the way but on the recommendation of a friend we made the trek and it was definitely worth it. The staff is very helpful and all of the kayaks we had were in good working order. The facility is neat and orderly with clean bathrooms and lots of changing stalls. There are two kayaking options, we took the west section which leads away from the Trading Post. We plan to come back and do the east section as well. The river itself is beautiful, with a good current and the water is very clear. We saw lots of fish in it and a couple of otters as well.”

“In addition to their website you can also book through the HipCamp app as well. Google Maps puts you right at the campground but it's in a beautiful setting overlooking the Blue River. It has some wonderful hosts (Matt & Angela) and I hope to go back again!”

“Campground was clean and the area I was in was quite; I really couldn't tell you about the rest of the place as it is rather spread out. The bath house was far away from my campsite, but I was using my own facilities; so I didn't care about it. They don't have sewer hookups, but since I was only there three nights so the dump station was fine. The place has a lot of seasonals. I met some of them and were nice. There was a "corn hole" tournament going on while I was there. It brought out a big crowd. I was told it's a regular occurrence. Seemed like a friendly crowd; the people I talked to were all nice. I would definitely come back here.”

“What a gem of a find! You are welcomed upon check in with very friendly and helpful staff. The camp store is filled with many items to peruse while also stocking all the necessities (firewood, ice, snacks, etc) "Find Your Happy" is the theme of the apparel and many signs. This is an accurate theme. The sites are all large and long with plenty of space between your neighbors. Can accommodate big rigs and multiple slide outs. The hooks ups are convenient in proportion to your site. The campground is kept very well maintained and clean. New owners in Sept 2021 and very impressed with the updates thus far. Activities for all are available on the weekends. The staff goes out of their way to assist with any questions or requests. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we returned the following weekend. We have stayed in many campgrounds big and small over the years and Happy Acres definitely provides a peaceful environment for you to "Find Your Happy"”

“Had to find a place to stay with the RV for a family reunion in a nearby city. This place is amazing! Bathrooms and showers are clean, their is a laundry room as well, but I didn't personally need to use it. Swimming pool goes from 1feet up to 5 feet so it's perfect for the kids! Private lake so no fishing license required! Mini golf ⛳ Grounds are well kept, looks like they did a ton of clean up reguarding other reviews mentioning trees falling, it's all cleaned up so no worries. Tons of space to turn around the RV on corners. Other campers were polite, waved hi to us as they strolled through on their golf carts or out for a morning walk. Employees were amazing and very accommodating to our needs. Store sells ice, some RV parts, pool toys, ice cream treats, snacks, candy, drinks, and you can get a wheel barrow of wood for $15! My entire family had an amazing time, thank you for accommodating us! The King Family”

“I gave five stars because I'm within 20 miles of horseman's camp. The two pit toilets usually have toilet paper and smell OK even in August. The camp sites are varied to ease of accessibility and none of the sites are pull thru. However the day parking is all pull thru. The camp sites have communal hitching rails and most are dry except when very very heavy rains have been in the area. Water is available at both ends of the camp meaning a short walk /carry to the day riding lot. Bridle tags are required AND I have been checked. There is no charge to enter the forest and campsite payment is on the honor system but DNR drives thru and checks to see all have paid. I think only one rig is allowed on a site but not sure, the same with extra cars. I guess one could unload and then park in day lot at the end of the camp. It's a short walk to all the camp sites. The camp has well designated areas for manure. The kiosk at the entrance has trail maps 15% of the time. Riders are friendly and helpful and most are locals. Because of the topography most of the riding is up and down the ridges. Hardwood trees are the norm and somewhere is a stand of walnut that I can't find most of the time. A few hitching rails are along some of the trails. The Salamonie river can be ridden along and ridden in at certain times. Raspberry bushes can be nibbled when fruit is on. If a long day of riding is desired it is possible to ride to Lost Bridges horse campground and a treat is to stop at Bozart's camp store. They have an overhead line to tie to and fresh water for drinking. They have camping stuff, a grill and ice cream, not to mention a flushing toilet! During hunting season orange hat and vest are required, I've ridden many times during hunting season and have ridden by some hunters in blinds. I have never been shot at. Most trails are single file and very few spots where walkers can hit a big lick. I would say all trails are safe for all skill levels. Many of the steep trails have been closed due to a small group of very inexperienced riders not having the brains to look ahead at a trail's terrain and know if their mount or themselves have an understanding of what it takes to get up or down the hill safety. Maybe riding double with your small kid on the back is also not a good idea. Most campers are very well behaved. Alcohol use is around but little red solo cups are all you see. I don't think children would be harmed by camp activities HOWEVER some young people, meaning late teens to early 20's seem to have been raised by wolves. These kids come in mass and race around the drive way circle. The be quite at 11:00PM is ignored. I know this from first hand experience because this large group camped across from me. Maybe it's part of experiencing the English way of life. DISCLAIMER : I'm in my 60's and might have forgotten what it's like to be a kid out to have fun, so during the day have fun but now I hope for a quiet night around the fire listening to the horses chomping hay and blowing through their noses. Is it too much to ask to hear the crackle of the fire. I've been riding at Salamonie forest for 50+ years and have met and visited with wonderful people. Please check this great area of Wabash county. Oh the Marathon station in Lagro has coffee for 50€ if you bring your own cup. How great is that! Wabash county is an OK place to visit. With covid - 19 many places are closed but it's not far from Wabash and TSC, Big R, Kroger, Wally World and all the chain fast food joints.”

“Great place to spend a day on the river ! The water is clean and clear you can see the fish and the bottom of the river . You can also camp or rent Cabins. The only problem I have is cabins have a 2 day minimum on weekends. After 1 river trip in a Canoe you dont want to go the next day usually.”

“Great place to come camp. Two fishing spots, a nice game room, and pool. Only downfall is the restroom near the tent sites was very small, old and needed a good cleaning from ceiling to floors but other than that it's a great place for families to go and relax outdoors!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐😁👍🏼”

“Love pitching a tent here for the weekend with the kids. The trails are awesome, water is awesome, so much beauty in a park. The only drawback is the rocks in the water at the beach. Other than that we always have a great time here”

“This is a really cool place. We stop in while they were having one of their tractor shows it was really neat. They had tons pedal tractors along with a lot of other really nice antique tractors. Most of the tractors were in really good shape. They had several food vendors. We stopped and got ourselves some tenderloins they were really great! They also have a really nice place to camp. Friendly staff! I would highly recommend this place!”

“Hidden Gem Sites are tight, but the ones over looking the river are worth it. We camped there in September 2020 and had a site along the Ohio River. We had our 2 German Shepherds with camping with us. We brought our Jet Skis and rode on the river for two days. I had pulled a muscle in my back when we first arrived. The camp hosts were super nice to us and brought our firewood to my site. The showers were nice and clean (especially for a city park). We had a great time and I look forward to going back.”

“Cinco stars all around! Hard to get going though. Not clearly marked. It would be nice if the map included clear locations as well as marked on signs in the park. A logical frame of reference on where to start would be sweet. But I had a super time and met some cool people and did some awesome jumps and trails. I will go back there again in a heartbeat”

“The owner operator of this business is a very intelligent man. He's very resourceful and actually cares about the environment that he works in. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to just get out and do kayaking for the first time, or get in a canoe for their 50th time. It's a very pleasant three mile canoe ride down the river. And we even got a ride back. The time we called him he was there within 5 minutes that's impressive in my book.”
