Hi-Tone Banjo Lessons in and around Lawrence, Kansas City and Topeka It doesn't matter whether you want to play like the late great Earl Scruggs or Bela Fleck, or frail like Grandpa Jones, or anybody else.
A long time elementary school teacher, he has taught banjo lessons for more than 25 years, using his teaching abilities to clarify material and inspire his banjo students. Winner of the Kansas State Banjo Contest in 2007, Jim has played in many bands over the years, the longest tenure being with the Alferd Packer Memorial String Band.
What matters is that you want to play the banjo. The banjo is easy to begin and forgiving of learner's early fumblings.
