An awesome place for lunch! Try it! Great food and great service
A Hidden Gem!! If you are making any sort of sojourn through the Flint hills, this place is a welcome respite. My bride and I stopped in for an early lunch. We had two of the finest sandwiches we've ever had. Generous portions of delicious meats served on fresh baked bread with crisp, delicious veggies, and a nice pasta salad, all served with the friendliness that only small-town Kansas seems able to summon. Hence, to travel through Florence means a stop here for lunch. Some nice historic places are in the vicinity, and there's a watering hole down the street for us to check out on our next trip.
Flint Hills cater an event for us and it was beautifully done. We had homemade bread that was soft and very flavorful. Meat and cheese trays we attractively arranged. We had a selection of cookies and pies that were loved by all. Best pie crust I have ever eaten and filling was wonderful. Highly recommend this establishment.
Impressive market and bakery in this little town of Florence. I've been here twice (last February and just last weekend). Such an impressive renovation of the old opera house, both exterior and interior. A nice selection of items in their market - and they had a great variety in their bakery/cafe - unfortunately, I only had time for a small bierock (though that was very tasty). And the staff were very friendly and courteous.
For anyone driving through on US-50 or US-77 in the Florence area, I highly recommend stopping here, even if it's for a few minutes.
