Jim and the LCR family are amazing. They went above and beyond, are innovative and won’t stop till they get it right. They worked within my budget and continue to be a resource for me from hundreds of miles away. I wouldn’t go anywhere else if you care about your Cruiser.

I am thankful I entrusted Jim and his team with a very special task of completely restoring my 1988 FJ 62. My specifications were varied and complex. I wanted this build to safely and comfortably transport my family on an upcoming 2 month overlanding trip to Alaska. Also, I needed the build to be a capable hunt rig. Jim can provide the video of my build. It’s awesome and a great investment in fun and adventuring.

I have dreamed of having a classic Land Cruiser for almost two decades. When I was younger, and I would see these vehicles on the road, I always thought that one day I would have one ... but I knew that I could never afford a new one because the prices were more than a college student or a twenty-something could afford. (They're actually more affordable today, a new Land Cruiser in today's dollars, than they were 20 or 30 years ago.) I always loved the look of the 60 series and the 62 series and when I finally had the opportunity to acquire one, and have it refurbished, I searched for a company that had excellent referrals. I spoke with Land Cruiser enthusiast across the country and ultimately, again and again, I was referred to Land Cruiser Restorations in Belle Plaine, Kansas.

From the initial conversation, and throughout the process, Jim and his team were outstanding. Communication was phenomenal and I always had a good idea of where my Land Cruiser was in the process. The work exceeded my expectations. Jim providing me a list of every possible item that we could consider in refurbishing the vehicle and allowed me to pick and choose what I was able to have done. For the most part, I chose to do all of Jim's recommendations. Relying upon his years of experience, I felt like I got great value for the money I spent. When I was unable to make a decision, Jim was able to provide me with the pros and cons. Land Cruiser Restorations facilitated pick-up of my vehicle, transit to Kansas, and delivery back to my home. The difference between the vehicle that I sent Jim ... and the vehicle that he sent me back ... was as different as night and day. I love driving this vehicle. And I get compliments routinely throughout the day when I drive it. The first full day that I had the vehicle a stranger approached me at a gas station and offered to buy it from me. Later, a stranger approached me in the parking lot at the grocery store to tell me how awesome It looked. Driving this vehicle, refurbished by Land Cruiser Restorations, creates a sense of nostalgia and quality. I think back about what was going on when the vehicle was built. I think about the workers in the factory who would never guess that this vehicle would still be on the road 30 years later, in America. The engine is incredibly strong and Jim and his team repaired and provided maintenance for any and all mechanical issues. The vehicle needed extensive body work due to the salt air and salt water in Japan and the rust that was prevalent. It's like a new truck! I would highly recommend Land Cruiser Restorations for any restoration of a Land Cruiser vehicle. In the near future, I plan on sending one of my 80 series to Jim so that they can work their magic on that rig.
