National Car Rental

The Car was great and the pickup and drop off were seamless. I would have given 5 stars but I left my prescription sun glasses in the car door after drop-off. I call customer care (got corporate) and asked them if they could call the airport return desk to grab my glasses. I got transferred twice to dropped calls and once to a real person who put me on hold and never picked back up (5 minutes), the last call I got a person who directed me to the National website to fill out a lost and found form. I decided to leave the gate and head back to the rental car to retrieve them myself. This took about 1 hour of pure stress as I only had 90 minutes till my plane took off. I was lucky DTW was a small airport and I got my glasses back. I know this was my fault for forgetting my glasses but all I needed was someone to call the local return desk and ask them to get and hold my glasses till I got over there. Sounds reasonable to me

As always it was nice to walk up to the executive parking area and choose the car that fit my needs for this trip. I chose a minivan since I had to pickup a few different people.

The vehicle was clean, had a full tank and was ready for the trip.

Checkout was even smoother and only took 3 minutes at the exit gate. I didn’t even have to go to the counter inside the building.
