I just spent three days reenacting the 160th anniversary of the Battle of Perryville. Beautiful Park, nice little museum, friendly staff and lots to see!! Park seems well maintained with nice facilities. Head out on a nice day with your walking shoes on, tour the battlefield and check out the little museum!
Interesting museum filled with some interesting and shocking details about America's bloodiest battle (from the informative educational video). The museum has some amazing artifacts showcased and a nice little gift shop with some neat gifts, including some recipe books. The battle field and surrounding grounds were so beautiful to drive through and walk around.
We found this battlefield by searching for western theater civil war sites. Making this a stop was tremendous.
The staff at the museum was helpful courteous and very knowledgeable.
The field is pretty much as is from 1862.
There are well marked walking trails with interpretive markers that help you comprehend what happened here and why.
It's incredible to think that almost 8,000 soliders were casualties here.
This is a great place to learn from history.
Thank you for least they not forget. This is one of the best Civil War preservation places I have ever seen and thank you for that because we should never forget the sacrifices are fore fathers made for are American freedoms. The video you show before the tour brings home the message of how each side suffered. The injured the dead and the missing. Thank you for all you do in teaching future generations
Super nice staff and a small but good museum. Also, a really nice drive around the battlefield with so many hiking trails. I'm definitely gonna be back when it warms up to try out the trails!
