We have a high maintenance goldendoodle that does not love being groomed, but both groomers at Earth Dog are so patient with him and help him feel safe and loved. We tried several different groomers in the past with mixed results, but once we found Earth Dog we knew we had the right match. Check them out, Lexington!
(February 27, 2020, 4:56 pm)The best groomer in town! Finally found a groomer that listens to exactly what you'd like. We brought our 9 month old Shih Tzu and Janel listened and offered advice for the first groom. He came back looking amazing. It's the first time I've been to a groomer in KY that does exactly what they say they're going to do. I've been to multiple groomers that say "ok" and then return my dogs completely shaved down, etc. Not this place. Thank you Janel for taking the time with Sonny, I'm sure he was a handful. I've found my new grooming place and cannot recommend them enough!
(February 14, 2020, 8:18 am)We have had some troubled grooming experiences in Lexington in the past but we LOVE Earth Dog Spa!!! James is great there and took the time to safely cut my pup and make sure he wasn't too anxious. We will go here every time!
(November 27, 2019, 5:22 pm)This is the only grooming salon in Lexington that I use and recommend to my friends and clients. They take the time needed to get to know your dog and tailor his or her visit to be exactly what they need. They have the skills to slowly work with anxious or fearful dogs and never rush just to get the job done. They make sure the dog is comfortable and not stressed all while completing beautiful grooms and perfectly executed nail trims/baths and providing each owner with great customer service.
Earth Dog Spa & Apawthecary also has a great selection of holistic shampoos, conditioners, and other grooming products. They would never recommend a product that they do not trust. I also love that they are very involved in the community! You will often find them at various fundraisers and events that benefit the humane society and they host several donation drives and fundraisers for other organizations in town. They also take the time to show their appreciation towards their clients by hosting the cutest Halloween costume contest in town!
Janel and James are calm, patient, personable, and VERY good at what they do! I will be very sad if I ever leave Lexington because I will never find groomers like those at Earth Dog.
(June 29, 2019, 10:12 pm)Fantastic spa and even more fantastic staff. Very professional, knowledgeable and also very caring with the dogs in their care. Don’t plan on walking in - they are always booking 2-3 weeks out because they are that good and it is more than worth the wait. I am extremely particular about who cares for my dogs in any way and especially when being groomed. I am very happy and comfortable trusting my dog’s care to Janel and staff. They are truly the only full service, all natural product, grooming salon that I am aware of. I really appreciate their commitment to using safe and nontoxic products.
