My experience with the ombudsman was great. Atmos energy had cut off my gas. I immediately paid the bill, $200 no questions asked, but they refused to turn it back on without a $250 deposit. They didn’t even give me a cut off notice. I did not have $450, I had to borrow the other $250. Contacted the ombudsman; received a letter saying it was being handled and Atmos credited the $250 to my account as payment, not a deposit.
