Union Baptist Church

Great church that still stands on the AVKJV as the word of God! The people make it feel like home and the preaching is old fashioned, Jesus Christ exhalting and soul convicting, while searching for a lost sinner to bring to Christ!! You need to attend if you able!

KJV, traditional music, love for God, one another and the local community.

Good KJV solid Baptist Church just small and needs help growing, but not for lack of good preaching.

This is a traditional church in a picturesque farm setting. The congregation is the epitome of Southern Baptists with typical Southern Baptists beliefs. If you want the traditional evangelical church then this is the one for you.

The praise and worship is traditional complete with adult choir and the preachers son on the piano. It is rare to hear a song that isn’t in the decades old hymnals.

Dress is traditional with the pastor and some of the members in a suit but dress jeans and a button shirt are acceptable attire for the congregation.

The missions and ministries are tradition as well with food pantries and missionaries.

There is an absolute insistence on only using the King James Version of the bible. While I find the KJV inadequate to accurately express the Truth in our modern language, I have found that those churches that adamantly support KJV also adamantly support other very important biblical beliefs concerning social issues that many other churches have caved on because of cultural pressures.

It is a very homogenous congregation (middle-class and white), to be fair that cannot be helped because Harrison County itself is 95% Caucasian and this church, being several miles outside of town, is unlikely to attract diverse groups.

My big criticism is something that I have found in most of the churches in Harrison County and that is… they don’t need you! Most churches in this area have third and fourth generation families attending so newcomers like me are not necessary. It seems there is no need to develop new relationships when you have your whole family right there next to you on the pew. Don’t misunderstand, the members are friendly and welcoming they just don’t seem to need any new friends.

The thing I admire the most at this church is the preacher’s very strong leadership and tenacious hold on his biblical beliefs; which is a common theme among the other men in leadership at this church. Like the stern and serious treasurer and the likeably, politically-minded adult Sunday school teacher.

Incredible Church !
The congregation is so friendly, it is a great church that preaches the word of God from the King James version of the Bible.
The church does alot for the community as well as its congregation.
They have Sunday School from 10am till 11am, Sunday services from 11am till noon, Sunday night service from 6pm till 7pm and Wednesday night bible study/ fellowship & food from 7pm till 8 or 9
Pastor Danny is a strong preacher that will keep your attention with his knowledge, wit, focus and determination to pass the word of God onto you !
