Officer Weaver, I love you, bro.
This officer is doing his best to learn and protect the public. This is a guy who has mastered his ego and quickly admits if he's wrong and learns from it. I want to be like this man and we should all strive to be as kind, articulate, and honest as him. I hope cops will look to you when you become the boss one day.
I am a proud resident of the city of Mckee and I am proud to have officer weaver employed in our community. I have never met him or any public servant as I just moved to this area. I hope all the public servants are as professional as officer weaver. I moved to this small community after being bullied by police officers in Corbin, Lexington and Richmond. I had a good feeling about this community and watching officer weaver has confirmed that I made a good decision.
There's a video of officer J. Weaver circulating on the internet doing an illegal detainment.
Sadly these misunderstandings happen all the time. Officer Weaver handled the misunderstanding better than I've ever seen any LEO do so in the past and even apologized after. Yall better keep that dude.
Officer Weaver was just doing his job to the best of his ability. He was polite and respectful. He was telling the man in the video what he believed to be true and was investigating a possible child endangerment situation. He repeatedly said that he didn't want to and was not going to violate the man's rights. When he was told that he was mistaken, he sought advice from his supervisor and then from the officer in the car. When he discovered that he was mistaken he apologized to the man and offered to get him the number he wanted. I think he did an excellent job and should be commended for his patience with this man. The man should have had the same respect for the officer. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the man had his child run around naked and waited for a police officer to show up to make the recording.
Showed love and support for this town, police and nonprofits by purchasing T shirt and lemonade.
